The
heart of this home is here in the great room. The unique Finnish masonry
heater, cathedral ceilings built with beautifully exposed larch and fir
beams, airlock entry, charming Craftsman light fixtures, and Casablanca
fans are but a few of the outstanding features of this beautiful room. The
clerestory allows light to splash down during the day and starlight viewing
on a clear night. |
| Please note: The panoramas are larger photographs that display continuous detail of the great room including the pantry, kitchen, masonry heater, entry, and sun room. Depending on your modem speed, they may take a moment or so to download. |
Two
sets of French doors open from the living room and kitchen to a large enclosed
sun room. The bright, spacious room, with aggregate flooring, could have
many functions - entertaining, container gardening, exercise area, studio,
relaxation retreat, ...and, of course, the views, from Fisherman's Island
to Mt. Schweitzer are breathtaking.(Click sun room image to view a larger photo.) |

The
uniquely designed Finnish masonry heater was custom built for this beautiful
home. Adding beauty and function with the convenient warming oven, it radiates
the comfort of wood heat to a large area of the home for 24 or more hours. The airlock main entry provides a smooth transition from the outdoors. The entry floor is tiled and there is plenty of room to provide a bench and storage for the convenience of shedding and donning outdoor gear for you and your guests. |
| Watch the sunrises and sunsets, the geese fly by, and enjoy the view of Mt. Schweitzer while preparing your meals. Kitchen storage is abundant in the beautifully crafted vertical grain fir cabinetry which includes a lazy susan corner. The kitchen is outfitted with Whirlpool appliances - refrigerator, dishwasher, garbage disposal, built-in space-saving microwave, and a natural gas range with fan/light hood. | ![]() (Click image to view a larger photo.) |
